April Card Class

The card class will be on April 15th. I will offer the class at 10:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. The theme in April will be "I Am Woman". Feminine cards that can be used for Mother's Day, Birthdays, Thank you, or just Thinking About You. I hope to see you there.

Now on a personal note: Our son, Greg just received the OVC Medal of Honor at Southeast Mo State University. OVC stands for Ohio Valley Conference. It is an award given to student athletes who maintained a 4.0 GPA this past year. We are very proud of his hard work. He also has been given the okay last week to start working out with the baseball team. He has been waiting for this day for 2 years. We hope all of his injuries are in the past and he can enjoy the game he has such a passion for, Baseball!

Steph has been called for 5 interviews to teach in the Francis Howell School District. We are keeping our fingers crossed that she will get the opportunity to teach. She has worked very hard this year for this opportunity.

I need to buy a new camera! My only requirement is that it takes pictures with less delay time between pushing the button and the picture showing up on the screen. Mine is so slow that the people move and my picture is blurry. (I might be moving too soon, also!) Any suggestions? Leave a comment. I welcome all suggestions!

I don't have any pictures from yesterday yet, but we had a wonderful time. Timi, Nancy, and I had a wonderful drive to Peoria. Ate at McAllister's, which was across the parking lot from Scrapadoodle. Check out Nancy's blog. The class was incredible. I wasn't able to take a class from Wendy Vecchi when she was at FKS, so I was thrilled to be there. Wendy is so sweet and so talented. We made the coolest flowers using her stamp sets which are at For Keepsake. We sat at a table with Linda Cain. She was so nice and I can't wait to take a class from her. Wendy Vecchi brought her take on Tim Holtz's bird art which were so cool PLUS she brought projects that she has made for us to look at. All I can say is WOW! Thank you Wendy for sharing your talent with us.

After the class we ate dinner and started home. What we thought was going to be an uneventful 3 hours home turned out to be 6 hours!!! Who gets lost on major highways? We do!!!! Leaving Peoria instead of going East we went West. It was pouring rain and the wind was horrible. It took both hands on the wheel in a death grip to keep the SUV on the road. We just kept following the cars in front of us. About 85 miles later, yes 85 miles, Nancy says we really should be in Springfield by now. She turned on my GPS in the car, Yes, I have a GPS that we didn't use, and put in destination "my home". We then realized we went the wrong way. We traveled 85 miles back to Peoria and started over. Nancy and Timi kept me entertained and awake for the rest of the trip home. We had a adventurous stop along the way but that is an entirely different story another day!

It was a great time. The company was hilarious and fun. The class was spectacular. Time with friends and having fun exploring your creativity......PRICELESS!

I'm getting my materials ready for a day trip to Peoria, IL. I'm going to take a class from Wendy Vecchi. We are going to learn how to make those unbelievable flowers she makes out of grungepaper. I can't wait to show and tell my flowers!

FYI: Best Fish Fry in South County is at Zion United Methodist Church on Union Rd. The fish is fresh and hand breaded there and they make all the side dishes from scratch! The cole slaw is great and the German Potato Salad is the best I've ever had. The recipe is a secret that is given out to only a few people in the kitchen. The recipe is over 100 years old and was used when the church was still located on the South Side of St. Louis. Went tonight and you couldn't believe the crowd! The next one is in 2 weeks. They have them every other Friday during Lent and then usually again in the Fall. The fish fryer is the greatest, my dad. My mom organizes the desserts.

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss! You helped teach me to read.
I have wonderful memories of my children asking us to read Green Eggs and Ham over and over and over again!

Here are the March Cards we will make in class. March 18th, 10:30 am or 6:30 pm.
